MISSION – First Presbyterian Church of Poughkeepsie

The First Presbyterian Church of Poughkeepsie is a covenant community that seeks to worship God through Scripture, Sacraments, music, thanksgiving, praise and service. We believe that Christ’s example of teaching, healing, serving and forgiving is the foundation of our faith and our model for action. Through faith, nurture and education we work for justice, to promote love and compassion, to minister to our own congregation, to the surrounding neighborhood and beyond.

IN CHRIST’S NAME WE.

– Praise and give thanks to God, the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer of life.
– Study, learn and teach what it means to live as Christians in each stage and aspect of our lives
– Share the good news of God’s love and justice, witnessing to the Gospel, and seeking disciples for Christ and His Kingdom.
– Serve and care for one another, our community and world family.
